Diablo Immortal Legendary Crests Are Being Redesigned, But For The Better?
By Jonathan ToyadVerified|August 30, 2022|0 Comment
Diablo Immortal is a free-to-play game, and as such has seen its fair share of controversy for its supposed pay-to-win elements. It’s still being played by millions for players though, and Blizzard is doing its best to do some housekeeping in-game.
One method is to change up the similar look between Legendary Crests and Eternal Legendary Crests, which are items that boost player chances of receiving quality loot when going through a randomly-generated Elder Rifts level. The Eternal Legendary Crests are more expensive versions of the Legendary Crests and are exclusive to the in-game store, just so you know.
Due to all the feedback the game and its developers have received, there will be a new orange redesign for the standard Legendary Crest. Diablo Immortal lead game designer Wyatt Cheng confirmed this in a Reddit post response.
New crest side-by-side comparison based on JT’s new video from DiabloImmortal
“This is artwork that we’re working on to help differentiate the Legendary Crest (which will become to Orange one) [sic] from the Eternal Legendary Crest (which will remain the purple one in the middle). We want to make sure players know exactly what they’re getting when they make a purchase, view them in inventory, and use them at the Elder Rift entrance. [P]layers should be able to distinguish the two quickly not only by colour but also by shape.”
The market icon for the Eternal Legendary Crests item description will also be changed up to reinforce the difference, as well as have its Elder Rift Entrance UI altered so players can choose which Crest they want to use.
Sounds good and all, so at least Blizzard is trying to keep Diablo Immortal relevant. Now if they can change the standard Legendary Crests rate so that they’re more generous….
