Here’s CS: GO Running In Source 2 Engine, But…

Gameplay footage of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) running in Valve’s Source 2 engine is already a reality for fans who want to see a major game engine update. The problem? It’s not officially released by its creator Valve.
Rather, the new version of CS: GO is being made by a team of game-makers and modders represented by Valve content creator channel Gabefollower. They have rebuilt CS:GO in Source 2 from the ground up using the community creation platform S&box (essentially Garry’s Mod part 2). The team said they remade the classic PvP title without using a single line of code from the original game, creating all the systems from scratch.
You can see it running in Source 2 glory below. Just keep in mind that the gameplay footage below is a “vertical slice” which will be updated in the future.
Gabefollower and his modding team will release its own version of CS:GO Source 2 as an open-source project.
“We did not use a single line of code from CS:GO and eventually we’ll publish the full C# codebase on github.”
CS: GO is still the most-played game of all time on Steam, with players putting in 441,579,584+ hours into the multiplayer title.
