Genshin Impact Tighnari & Zhongli Banners Doing Very Well
It’s said that having likeable pretty boys as your high-valued gachas in your anime RPG free-to-play title is just as sound a money-winning strategy as using hot anime waifus. HoYoverse did this for its RPG Genshin Impact recently, and it’s paying dividends.
According to tracking site GenshinLab which uses revenue data from the App Store in China, the Genshin Impact 3.0 character gacha banner featuring new character Tighnari and legacy character Zhongli (for the fourth time) has garnered US$13,961,126 during its first week. That’s from 24 August, by the by. For reference, Raiden Shogun’s first release banner made US$25,605,658 in its first seven days on 8th March 2021. While boobie sword lady still sits on top, US$13+ million is nothing to sneeze at.
With more characters coming soon in the Genshin Impact version 3.1 update featuring Cyno, Nilou, and Candace, those numbers are only going to head upward as players will be struggling to gacha either of the three, or all of them. For more on the 3.0 update, check out our guide.
