The Fantastic Four Movie Finds Its New Director
At D23, Marvel announced that Matt Shakman will direct the Fantastic Four movie. Shakman is best known for directing episodes of TV series such as Game Of Thrones, The Boys, WandaVision and more.
However, no cast members have been announced yet, so we’ll have to wait longer for that. Jon Watts was previously set to direct Fantastic Four but dropped out back in April 2022.
For more updates on the Fantastic Four movie, Kevin Feige said that we’ll have to wait until the next D23. So, yeah, that’s still about a year away, at least.
Back in July 2022,
Marvel Studios head honcho confirmed that the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Fantastic Four movie won’t be an origin story and won’t simply rehash the origin story of Marvel’s First Family. Instead, they’re approaching it much in the same way that they introduced Spider-Man into the MCU with 2016’s Captain America Civil War.
He said:
“A lot of people know this origin story. A lot of people know the basics. How do we take that and bring something that they’ve never seen before? “We’ve set a very high bar for ourselves with bringing that to the screen.”
Fantastic Four is slated to release on 8 November 2024.
