Sega Opens New Singapore Branch
Fans of Sega will be pleased to know that the corporation has opened a branch in Southeast Asia, in Singapore.
According to the Japanese company in a press release today, Singapore has achieved remarkable economic growth as a major hub in the Southeast Asia region, given its convenient location and business-friendly government policies. That last one rings true as major US and Japan gaming companies have set up shop in Singapore before any other place in Southeast Asia. The Sega Singapore office was established on 13 October before its official coming-out announcement today, with a capital of S$350,000. Its modus operandi is market research and marketing for Southeast Asia, though all of its SEA distribution will still be handled by Epicsoft. At the very least, it’ll be easier for content creators and the media to touch base with the Singapore office for Sega-related gaming and marketing.
As of now, Sega’s biggest titles include the upcoming 3D platformer Sonic Frontiers and action-adventure title Like A Dragon: Ishin. Check out our thoughts about the two games below.
