Dead Island 2 Is Delayed Yet Again, This Time To April 2023
You know what they say: we can wait for a long-awaited game a while longer if the delay’s worth it.
Such is the case of publisher Deep Silver and developer Dambuster Studios’ upcoming action-adventure zombie-killing game Dead Island 2. The game has been delayed from its 3 February 2023 release date to 28th April 2023. It’s a good thing too: February 2023 is incredibly packed with video games galore with Hogwarts Legacy to even that EA Monster Hunter clone.
Here’s the full skinny from publisher Deep Silver:
We have some important news to share, so let’s rip that band aid off straight away. We are delaying Dead Island 2—the new release date will be April 28, 2023.
The irony of delaying Dead Island 2 is not lost on us, and we are as disappointed as you undoubtedly are. The delay is just 12 short weeks and development is on the final straight now; we’re going to take the time we need to make sure we can launch a game we’re proud to launch. For those of you who’ve been waiting for years, thank you for hanging in there with us.
In the meantime, we will be releasing an exciting new trailer and gameplay at The Dead Island 2 Showcase, which will premiere on December 6 on our Twitch and YouTube channels, as well as on the Dead Island website.
If you REALLY need a zombie-killing fix right now up until April, may we suggest Dying Light 2? We gave it a glowing review for its gameplay and action beats, as well as its parkour shenanigans. Not so much its story though; that aspect is as butchered as the undead’s face in-game.
