Pokemon Scarlet And Violet Sold 10 Million Copies In First Three Days, Defying Expectations

The Pokemon Company and Gamefreak can get away with murder if recent sales numbers for its latest mothership RPG are of any indication.
Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet sold 10 million units (digital and physical) in its first three days of release according to the game’s publisher Nintendo. Despite all of the flak the game received for its buggy launch and glitches, the game’s RPG and monster collecting factor aren’t enough to put this proverbial beast to pasture. For the record, this is the highest global sales level for any software on any Nintendo platform within the three-day timeframe.
This is a terrible precedent for video games in general, because this means Gamefreak and Pokemon Company don’t really need to make any huge effort to pull in big sales numbers; the bare minimum in other words. While other games struggle to get half these sales numbers, all these two companies need is just a base RPG, some minimal changes, new monsters to collect, and voila: instant cash grab. It’s a wonder why the majority of people aren’t lumping these two charlatans together with EA and Activision Blizzard, considering that these two are infamous for releasing annual game titles that amount to nothing but roster changes, or the equivalent to that bare effort.
