Team Ninja Currently Has No Updates On Ninja Gaiden & Dead Or Alive, Despite Reports

During G-Star 2022 last Sunday on 20th November, the Korean press (via Inven) reported that Team Ninja may be rebooting & reviving its classic titles Ninja Gaiden and Dead Or Alive according to studio head Fumihiko Yasuda. While the company has the enthusiasm to do so, they currently have no news to share on both franchises at the moment.

According to a recent Videogames Chronicle report, Team Ninja has no specifics on the future plan regarding the two series.

“Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden are both long-standing pillar franchises for Team Ninja. These celebrated titles are synonymous with our studio history and reputation.

It goes without saying that when speaking about the development of our past and future projects, both of these important titles cannot be left without mention. However, there are no details or information to share on either of these franchises at this present time.

Like many of our dedicated fans, we share the enthusiasm for the return of these beloved titles. And we will be sure to provide a proper update (if and) when that day arrives.”

Besides, Koei Tecmo owns those properties, so Team Ninja may need a strong pitch to revive them if they wish to go back to that well. We know the Dead Or Alive series has a sixth game that’s out, though only a niche few are playing that because people prefer Tekken 7 these days.

The last Ninja Gaiden game was Ninja Gaiden 3 back in 2012. The less said about the Yaiba spinoff, the better.
