Final Super Mario Bros Movie Trailer Showcases Karts & Rainbow Road Brutality
It’s Mario Day right now (Mar.10), and Nintendo has a special treat for movie fans and gaming fans: a new Super Mario Bros. movie trailer.
This is the third and final trailer, with Nintendo and animation studio Illumination showing off a taste of Mario and his pals fighting Koopas on the road. The Rainbow Road! The trailer showcases a glimpse of Mario, Peach, and the rest driving cars and bikes on Rainbow Road, with Mario hijacking one bike, killing that one Koopa Trooper climbing that bike, and then throwing its shell onto an oncoming buggy, then hijacking another kart in style.
We also get to see Luigi in Bowser’s jail alongside a ton of prisoners, with a ghostly Luma taunting him and everyone from its cage. That’s the first time we’ve seen that Super Mario Galaxy creature make an appearance in the movie. Any chance we may see a Rosalina cameo at the end of the film?
In any case, the full trailer is below, along with the cast joking with each other for Mar.10 day and directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic talking about the Rainbow Road scene in brief, talking about the new tech they’re bringing to the scene.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie is coming out on 5th April in USA, but it’ll only be out in Malaysia on 20th April. In the meantime, do check out the voice dubs between the English, French, and Italian versions of the trailer.
