When it comes to portable gaming, Nintendo Switch is dominating the market. However, Valve recently introduced the Steam Deck, which lets you play various Microsoft Windows titles. The Steam Deck comes in three models with different internal storage options and price points.
Although there are a few alternatives to the Steam Deck, the options are pretty limited. But with ROG Ally on the horizon, it could give Valve’s handheld gaming PC a run for its money.
According to ASUS, the ROG Ally will have the fastest AMD APU yet, which is roughly twice as powerful as the Steam Deck. Other features include a 7-inch display with 1080p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Unfortunately, we don’t know much about the battery life and price yet.
The Steam Deck, on the other hand, has a 40Wh battery that provides 2 to 8 hours of playtime, depending on the graphics settings. As for the price, there’s no information on how much the ROG Ally will cost, but some are speculating that it could be around $1000.
Valve is reportedly working on a follow-up to the Steam Deck, but we don’t know much about it yet. We’ll keep you posted on any updates on the potential Steam Deck 2, including price and specs. In the meantime, you can sign up for pre-order information for the ROG Ally on the Best Buy website.
