Filipino MLBB community mourns the passing of Navi & Chad
The esports community in the Philippines is feeling a great loss as they grieve the passing of Ivan Emmanuel “Navi” Gacho and Charles Dave “Chad” Dela Pena. Both of these individuals were well-known personalities in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports scene.
Navi was the head coach of RSG Ignite during the first season of MDL, and his team managed to reach the quarterfinals before losing to Blacklist Academy. Prior to coaching, he used to play in MPL, where he teamed up with Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno and Salic “Hadji” Imam in Season 4. Navi passed away on 24 April, which is just a month before his 25th birthday.
Chad, on the other hand, used to manage Nexplay EVOS boot camp and was like an older brother to Renejay “Renejay” Barcarse and John Paul “H2Wo” Salonga in and out of the MPL scene. He passed away on 23 April, and he was 27.
MPL released a statement expressing their deep sadness over the loss of both Chad and Coach Navi. They extend their sympathies and thoughts to their families and friends. Rest in peace, Chad and Navi.
