Redfall Won’t Have 60FPS Performance Mode On Xbox Series At Launch
By Jonathan ToyadVerified|April 13, 2023|0 Comment
Bethesda and Xbox has announced that its upcoming co-op vampire-killing shooter will not have a performance mode, at least for Xbox.
Redfall will not have a 60FPS Performance mode on Xbox Series X|S at launch. The game will only have Quality mode, where it’ll run at 30FPS and in 4K (for the X version). At the very least, Performance mode will only be available at a later date as an update.
Redfall is launching on Xbox consoles with Quality mode only:
Xbox Series X: 4K 30 FPS
Xbox Series S: 1440p 30 FPS
60 FPS Performance mode will be added via game update at a later date. pic.twitter.com/NLaGsMbwdW— Redfall (@playRedfall) April 12, 2023
This isn’t a good look for the game, especially since the Xbox Series is capable of running games at 60FPS. A lot of critics and content creators online are worried:

Postpone, please. Nobody want’s to play a slideshow shooter on a gamepad in 2023, nobody. This is not a souls game where every attack takes 25 seconds, it’s a fast paced game and needs 60fps minimum.

Wait why wouldn’t you just release the game when the 60 fps performance is available?

these companies really need to learn from games like battlefield 2042. stop rushing games that are unfinished! just wait until its at peak playability to release it. people would rather wait, than to play something rushed that's lower quality.

Oof ????? this is a huge mistake. Always, always, always, prioritize frame rate. I was never someone who really cared about specs on a game, but as time went one, 60 fps sorta became a standard of what should be a smooth experience.

Redfall will be out on 2nd May for Xbox and PC; you may want to get the PC version if the 30FPS Quality mode will bother you in the long run.
