RSG Slate SG Becomes The First Team To Win MPL SG 3 Times In A Row

The latest season of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Singapore has come to a close, and what a tournament it was! The grand final saw RSG Slate SG take on Team Flash, and it did not disappoint.
RSG Slate SG, who had already won the previous two seasons, managed to secure their third consecutive championship title, making them only the second team in MPL history to do so. The first team to achieve this feat was the Burmese Ghouls in MPL Myanmar Seasons 3 to 5.
But it wasn’t an easy ride for RSG. Team Flash, who had never made it to the grand final in their previous five seasons, put up a strong fight. The final series was a best-of-five match, and each game was full of excitement and intense gameplay.
In the first game, RSG Slate SG’s Fawzan “Okky” Herdiatna was outstanding on Wanwan, taking the lead with his precise Crossbow of Tang in team fights. He received the MVP award with a remarkable 8/3/3 KDA. The second game saw Team Flash surprise everyone with a three-tank lineup featuring Akai, Carmilla, and Atlas. However, RSG Slate SG stuck to their usual picks, with Wee Lun “Diablo” Yeo leading the charge on his signature Benedetta. After a closely contested game, RSG Slate SG managed to secure the Evolved Lord in a chaotic team fight at the 21-minute mark, giving them a 2-0 lead.
In the third game, Okky dominated on Beatrix, securing a Maniac and eventually a Savage at the 13-minute mark to clinch the match point. But Team Flash fought back in the fourth game, extending the series thanks to Mark “Kram God” Florencio’s Franco, who set up team fights and singled out priority targets.
The final game saw RSG Slate SG draft high-damage heroes Pharsa and Martis, while Team Flash SG opted for a crowd control-heavy composition. RSG executed their strategy flawlessly, securing kills at a rapid pace during the early to mid-game. With no towers left for Team Flash SG and a significant gold deficit, RSG headed straight for their opponent’s base, securing a decisive victory with a 13-4 kill record.
With this win, RSG Slate SG will be taking home the lion’s share of the SG$100,000 prize pool and will be the sole representative of Singapore in the upcoming Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup 2023 in June
