Super Mario Bros Movie Didn’t Credit Musicians For The DK Rap
By Jonathan ToyadVerified|April 6, 2023|0 Comment
In the upcoming Super Mario Bros animated movie (at least in Malaysia; it’s out in a number of other places), there’s a segment that plays the (in)famous DK Rap from the N64 game Donkey Kong 64. Composers Grant Kirkhope and George Andreas made the song, so you would think they would get proper credit for their meme-worthy contribution in gaming.
It didn’t; instead, the credits listed the DK Rap as being from the game without details on who composed and performed it. This was mentioned by Kirkhope himself and a couple more games journalists on Twitter.
I was really looking forward to see my name in the credits for the DK Rap, but alas as expected it's not there …….. fml
