John Wick 5 & A ‘AAA’ John Wick Game Are In The Works
By Alleef Ashaari|May 27, 2023|0 Comment
John Wick 4 was the highest-grossing one in the franchise yet and the the franchise is still growing. Beyond the upcoming Ballerina spinoff movie and the ‘The Continental’ TV series in development, John Wick 5 and a AAA John Wick game are also in the works.
According to the latest Lionsgate earnings call (via Comicbook), Lionsgate Motion Picture Group President Joe Drake said:
“We’re now moving across that franchise, not just in the AAA video game space, but looking at what the regular cadence of spin-offs, television really growing that universe so that there is a steady cadence of a franchise that there’s clear appetite by the audience.
What is official is that, as you know, Ballerina is the first spinoff that comes out next year. We’re in development on three others, including [John Wick 5] and including television series, The Continental, will be airing soon.
And so, we’re building out the world and when that five movie comes, will be organic — will be organically grown out of how we’re starting to tell those stories. But you can rely on a regular cadence of John Wick.”
However, he did not mention any specific video game publishers or developers that are involved in the development of the game.
Previously, John Wick has dabbled into the games industry with the VR shooter John Wick Chronicles and the action RTS John Wick Hex, but they were both not quite at the level of AAA-budget games. A true AAA John Wick game would be a potentially massive hit if done properly. Perhaps a third-person shooter with martial arts like Sleeping Dogs.
