Final Fantasy 16 Has New Game Plus Mode; Find Out More
If you think you’re done with RPG title Final Fantasy 16’s 35+ hour campaign, think again.
An IGN video interview with director Hiroshi Takai and combat director Ryota Suzuki revealed that FF16 will indeed have a “New Game Plus” mode with its own unique and tougher challenges. Dubbed Final Fantasy Mode, the new game plus mode will carry data over from a previous playthrough, with the level cap raised to 100 and enemies being far more powerful. Also, late-game enemies like the Chimera and Iron Giant (an FF staple) will show up in earlier stages and dungeons in the game.
Helping you out is the fact that you can craft the Ultima weapon immediately when you start the game, along with other rare drops and rewards not found in previous playthroughs. You can only access this mode once you beat the game, so this is clearly meant for those looking for a challenge beyond the main game or just want to go the completionist route. We’ll bet you that there’s a PSN Trophy for just completing this mode.
Final Fantasy 16 will be out on 22nd June exclusively for PlayStation 5. For more on Final Fantasy, check out our feature on which FF game you should start off with if you want to explore the earlier games.
