Fnatic has emerged victorious at VALORANT’s Masters Tokyo tournament, completely dominating their opponents and clinching a flawless 3-0 victory over Evil Geniuses in the grand final. This outstanding performance has earned them the coveted title at this prestigious US$1 million event and has cemented themselves as the undisputed best team in the world as they are the first team to achieve back-to-back international titles.

Fnatic’s sheer dominance was on full display throughout the entire tournament, with Evil Geniuses being the sole team capable of giving them a run for their money. As one of the highest-ranked teams, Fnatic enjoyed the privilege of bypassing the group stage and commenced their campaign in the upper bracket quarter-finals. It was here that they effortlessly swept aside NRG with a resounding 2-0 victory. Next in their path stood another formidable top-seeded team, Paper Rex, who unfortunately met the same fate as Fnatic claimed another comfortable 2-0 triumph.
In the upper bracket final, Evil Geniuses emerged as the only team truly capable of challenging Fnatic’s dominance. However, despite their best efforts, Fnatic triumphed with a hard-fought 2-1 victory, including a stunning 13-3 win on Lotus to kick off the series.
The grand final was the ultimate showdown between Fnatic and Evil Geniuses. Fnatic showcased their undeniable prowess, leaving no doubt as to why they are considered the world’s best. With impressive victories on Lotus and Split, they swiftly gained a 2-0 advantage in the grand final. It seemed as though Evil Geniuses would salvage at least one map when they reached map point early on Bind. However, Fnatic mounted a remarkable comeback from a 12-7 deficit, forcing the match into overtime. By that point, Evil Geniuses were demoralized, and Fnatic effortlessly secured an OT victory to claim the championship.

Despite their unfortunate collapse in the final moments of the grand final, Evil Geniuses’ performance throughout the tournament should not be overlooked. They remained undefeated in the group stage and only suffered defeat at the hands of Fnatic in both the upper bracket final and the grand final. This highlights the significant gap between Fnatic and the rest of the Valorant teams, as Evil Geniuses managed to triumph over all other competitors except Fnatic.
As the winners of Valorant Masters Tokyo, Fnatic will walk away with a substantial US$350,000 in prize money, while Evil Geniuses will receive US$200,000 for their commendable efforts. Paper Rex and NRG complete the top four, taking home US$125,000 and US$75,000 respectively. Moreover, Fnatic’s triumph has secured an additional slot for Europe at the upcoming Valorant Champions later this year, further emphasizing their regional dominance.
