Microsoft & Sony Signs Agreement To Keep Call of Duty On PlayStation, Confirms Xbox Head
By Alleef AshaariVerified|July 16, 2023|0 Comment
After all the drama and the cold war between Microsoft and PlayStation these past few years, Xbox head Phil Spencer has announced that Microsoft and PlayStation have finally signed an official agreement to keep releasing future Call Of Duty games on Sony’s PlayStation platform even after Microsoft has acquired Call of Duty developer/publisher Activision.
This news was revealed by Phil Spencer himself via Twitter and it comes less than a week after Microsoft and Xbox won their court case against the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for the acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
At the time of writing, no details have emerged, including how long this agreement will officially last or how long (or how many) future Call of Duty games will be made available on PlayStation.
We are pleased to announce that Microsoft and @PlayStation have signed a binding agreement to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation following the acquisition of Activision Blizzard. We look forward to a future where players globally have more choice to play their favorite games.

In other related news to come out of the recent Microsoft Xbox FTC trial, it was revealed that the upcoming Bethesda MachineGames Indiana Jones game will be an Xbox exclusive and that Starfield was originally planned for the PS5 before Microsoft purchased Bethesda. Microsoft also expects that the next-gen consoles will arrive in 2028 and that the PS5 Slim/Pro is slated to release sometime later this year.
