Street Fighter 6 Rashid Is Broken; Capcom Is Working On It
By Jonathan ToyadVerified|July 25, 2023|0 Comment
Turns out that Capcom may have released a broken and OP character weeks before EVO Championship Tournament starts.
As you may know, Capcom released a new Street Fighter 6 character on 24 July: rushdown wind-savvy weaboo Rashid. He has a bunch of cool moves ranging from whirlwind projectiles to Arabian Cyclone traps, along with his Street Fighter 5 Eagle Kick and fancy running/jumping moves. And he’s a legal tournament character for EVO; the tournament is from 5th to 7th August GMT+8 time.
The problem? It’s too soon to tell whether he’s broken or underpowered in just a week or so. Nowhere is this situation more evident that the latest discovery of Rashid’s Infinite Tornado bug.
Highlighted by a HiFight video, the bug allows you to trap enemies in an “infinite giant tornnado” situation that drains their Drive Gauge and chip them to death. All Rashid has to do is perform his level 2 Super Art Ysaar -the tornado in question – then perform Arabian Cyclone to speed up Ysaar. After that, cancel Arabian Cyclone with Wing Stroke or Rolling Assault, and then walk forward with the tornado. This allows Rashid to carry the opponent from one corner to the other, resulting in massive chip damage if the opponent’s in burnout state. While the opponent can use Drive Reversal, savvy players can bait that and just punish accordingly. There aren’t any other counter plays against this bug.

Capcom is aware of this bug at the moment and are going to fix it.
“We are aware of an issue with Rashid regarding Ysaar (Rashid’s level 2 Super Art) staying onscreen for a prolonged amount of time and are investigating.”

Until that’s sorted, expect Ranked Play with Rashids to be very, VERY annoying to deal with.
