Killer Bean Game Announced; Based On CG Movie Made By One Man

Back before the 2010s hit, the internet was graced with a one-man animated film called Killer Bean Forever. The premise? A lone sentient coffee bean wearing a red and black suit goes on a killing spree against gangster coffee beans.

It was fun to watch, and impressive to tune into considering that one person (Jeff Lew, Hollywood special effects artist) did all this. You can watch the whole film in 4K below.

Years later, we now get news that the same team, Killer Bean Studios LLC, is making a third-person/first person roguelike shooter for PC. From the looks of it, we have coffee beans, guns, cars, open world, bullet time, breakdancing, and tons of rival beans to shoot and murder.

“You are Killer Bean, a rogue assassin who takes out the trash in this world, one bullet at a time. The procedurally generated story changes every time you start a new campaign in this first person/third person, roguelike shooter.”

Assuming this is made by one person still, and this isn’t an elaborate prank, this is pretty impressive. No release date has been announced yet, but you can wishlist it on Steam.

Full trailer and feature list below:

“From the same creator as Killer Bean Forever, this is a first person/third person, open-world, roguelike shooter. Every time you start a new single player campaign, everything changes. The locations change, the missions change, the characters change, the bosses change, and most of all, the story changes.

Characters who you trusted before, may turn against you. Enemies who tried to kill you, may end up helping you. Simple missions can turn into deadly traps. No two campaigns are the same.”

Key Features

  • Totally procedurally generated missions and story, packed with plot twists and surprises
  • Level up Skill Trees for your style of play: Stealth, Melee Combat, Parkour, Guns Blazing
  • Different factions of enemies who all dislike each other
  • Ragdolls and physics combat galore
  • Lots of vehicles to drive, and lots of weapons to try
  • Main characters that roam the map, who will either help you or hurt you
  • Design your own Shadow Beans that will hunt down Killer Bean
  • Create your own missions
