I’m sure you won’t want to waste time sifting through Netflix’s extensive catalogue of shows and movies just to decide on what to watch. The streaming giant updates its site every day, week, and month with new content, so I’m here to save your precious time.

Here are my personal recommendations and highlights for Netflix Malaysia’s September 2023 lineup and how to fill up your free time with worthwhile content at home:

Disenchantment Part 5 (1 September 2023)

To save Dreamland from Queen Dagmar’s wrath, Princess Bean must vanquish her mother and outrun a prophecy that foretells she will kill the one she loves.

This is the final season of The Simpsons creator Matt Groening’s fantasy animated series.

Gamera Rebirth (7 September 2023)

In the summer of 1989, four kids in Tokyo witness the emergence of the turtle kaiju Gamera, who bravely stand up against giant human-eating monsters.

Gamera, the giant monster which has been beloved by Kaiju fans across the globe since the 1960s, faces off against five enemy creatures across six episodes in this new animated series.

Once Upon A Crime (14 September 2023)

In this comedy mystery movie, Little Red Riding Hood becomes a detective to solve a tough case that occurs in a world of fairy tales!

Along her journey, a girl called Little Red Riding Hood (Kanna Hashimoto) meets the downtrodden and unkempt Cinderella (Yuko Araki). After a witch transforms their clothes into beautiful dresses, they set out to attend a fancy ball. However, when their pumpkin carriage hits and kills a man, they hurriedly hide the corpse and head to the ball at the castle. Just as Cinderella and the prince (Takanori Iwata) fall in love, the corpse is discovered and the ball is canceled. Faced with a desperate situation, the girls meet a series of quirky characters as they work to uncover the real killer. Little Red Riding Hood boldly uses her natural deductive skills to tackle the case!

Sex Education Season 4 (21 September 2023)

Let’s go out with a bang. Sex Education returns for a fourth and final season on September 21.

Spy Kids Armageddon (22 September 2023)

A new family of spies arrives on Netflix September 22. Robert Rodriguez reboots the beloved Spy Kids franchise, inspiring a new generation of young heroes and taking the spy game to the next level.

When the children of the world’s greatest secret agents unwittingly help a powerful Game Developer unleash a computer virus that gives him control of all technology, they must become spies themselves to save their parents and the world.

Encounters (27 September 2023)

Lights in the sky over Texas and Japan. Spacecrafts over schoolyards in Wales and Zimbabwe. It’s not science fiction – these stories of extraordinary mass sightings are true. Presented with fresh urgency by experiencers, top scientists, and military insiders, this thrilling four-part series sets aside scepticism to focus on belief, wonder, and the very human impact of encounters with extraterrestrial life.

Castlevania Nocturne (28 September 2023)

New series focusing on Richter Belmont origin story feat. vampires in the French Revolution.

The gory and gothic adventures of the Castlevania franchise continue with an exciting new setting and their highest stakes yet. A gripping story of love and loss, Nocturne marks an evolution to the original fan-favorite Castlevania Netflix Series. Featuring a never before seen origin story of Richter Belmont (gaming icon, and one of the Franchise’s most beloved characters).

Led by showrunner Kevin Kolde and Creator/Writer Clive Bradley. Produced by Project 51 Productions with production services provided by Powerhouse Animation.

Power Rangers Cosmic Fury (29 September 2023)

Lord Zedd has escaped, and this time his rampage extends to the farthest reaches of space! The Rangers need to find new Zords and new powers to face Zedd’s latest threat, and they won’t do so alone. Joined by some familiar faces, they will discover the power of the Cosmic Orbs and become the Cosmic Fury Rangers, armed with new uniforms, new weapons, and an entirely new fleet of Zords! Go Go, Power Rangers!

The Wonderful World Of Henry Sugar (TBC September 2023)

A beloved Roald Dahl story about a rich man who learns about a guru who can see without using his eyes and then sets out to master the skill in order to cheat at gambling.
