New Jujutsu Kaisen Mobile Game Unveils Combat Details, Key Visual & Illustrations

Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade, the highly-anticipated mobile game has generated buzz online with recent leaks, set to be released sometime later this year. TOHO Games and developer Sumzap ( best known for their work on the KonoSuba: Fantastic Days game) have recently revealed a new key visual that depicts all-new original characters from the series.

The newly released key visual features the addition of three fresh characters positioned on the far right side.

  • Saki Rindo voiced by Rina Sato (Sailor Mars in Sailor Moon Crystal)
  • Kensuke Nagino voiced by Rikiya Koyama (Yukichi Fukuzawa in Bungo Stray Dogs)
  • Kaito Yuki voiced by Kotaro Nishiyama (Kazuhito Narita in Haikyu)

Fans can now experience an exciting new original story featuring the voice cast of the anime recording fresh lines for their beloved characters. Additionally, players can also relish a retelling of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1’s narrative.

In a recent official live broadcast unveiling new details about the upcoming mobile game, Famitsu reported that the game will combine elements from the main series with original content created exclusively for the mobile entry. In addition, the game’s storyline will feature three new students from the Fukuoka branch school of the Magic Technical College and a new cursed spirit called the Phantom Curse, which is not present in the main series.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade’s gameplay revolves around a turn-based combat that enables players to take control of up to four characters, including Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Nanami Kento, and others from the series during battles. The combat system contains distinct skills to execute, and each character has their own unique special skill. Once all the party members and enemies have selected their skills, the action will start, and everyone will initiate their attacks. The damage inflicted by each skill varies.

A special cooperative attack can be triggered if all party members use their special skills in one turn, similar to Persona 5’s All Out Attack.

Leaked illustrations have started circulating online, revealing that players can expect side stories that feature both the main characters and intriguing side characters like Mechamaru, Miwa, Mai, and Utahime. These illustrations showcase various scenes from the anime, such as Yuji speaking to his grandfather on his deathbed and Gojo’s initial fight against Sukuna.

Furthermore, there is a scene depicting Yuji spending time with Gojo, Megumi, and Nobara, all while being accompanied by Junpie in the Jujutsu High uniform. Fans are also treated to an original scene featuring Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara enjoying each other’s company in a restaurant. Additionally, there is an illustration that pays tribute to Yuji and Todo’s unique brotherly bond, showing both of them lying on a field.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade will launch exclusively on Android and iOS in Japan later this 2023, with a possible global release to follow.

In the meantime, check out the new Jujutsu Kaisen x UNIQLO UT collection now available in Malaysian retail outlets.
