The Scramble Vice Is A New Side-Scrolling Robot Action Game Coming In 2024

Publisher Flyhigh Works and Shinobo non-Grata developer Studio PICO have recently announced an upcoming side-scrolling 2D robot action game titled “The Scramble Vice.” With a release date of 2024 for PC, the game takes place in the year 2048, when criminal acts have become rampant using robots.

Set in a futuristic world, terrorism has risen to dangerous levels, plunging the capital into constant fear. The citizens of Neo Tokyo live their lives under the looming shadow of potential attacks, unsure of when or where the next act of terror will strike. To combat this escalating threat, the 9th Mobile Unit of the Tokyo Police Department, known as The Scramble Vice, has been assigned the crucial task of maintaining safety in the city. Equipped with advanced technology and highly trained officers, The Scramble Vice is at the forefront of the battle against robot terrorism.

In the game, players step into the shoes of police officer Sakuragi Kei, a member of the 9th unit. Kei is not an ordinary officer though, as she is equipped with a powerful armed exoskeleton suit known as “ASURA.” This suit grants her enhanced physical abilities, making her a formidable force against criminals. With the ASURA suit, Kei can withstand heavy gunfire, traverse difficult terrain with ease, and overpower enemies with great strength. The ASURA also features a “Homing Missile” ability, which tracks and targets enemies, as well as a “Roller Boost” ability that enables Kei to evade enemy projectiles effortlessly.

There are 12 stages filled with intense action, in which players can use over 10 types of weapons and take on tough bosses. Furthermore, players have the option of disembarking from the robot and taking part in independent undercover missions.

In their quest to uncover the truth behind an anonymous terrorist group, players can enlist the help of their friends. Additionally, the game provides the possibility of controlling various vehicles, including bikes, cars, as well as battle robots.

The Scramble Vice is set to deploy for PC via Steam sometime in 2024.

In the meantime, watch the official teaser trailer below.
