Final Fantasy Creator Makes Current Franchise Producer Naoki Yoshida Cry On Stage
Final Fantasy 14 lead and Final Fantasy 16 producer Naoki Yoshida was reduced to tears during the past weekend’s Final Fantasy 14 Fan Festival by the series’ original creator, Hironobu Sakaguchi. Why? Because the latter thanked him for making the game “even better”.
According to a recorded Tweet of the interview between the two on stage by Twitter user Mother Claw (via Push Square), Yoshida thanked Sakaguchi for the influence. This then prompted Sakaguchi to shake his hand and say the following:
“I’m going to thank you back, for making Final Fantasy even better moving forward.”
Yoshida was touched by the gesture, and then turned away from the crowd and proceeded to wipe his eyes.
“I never expected that Sakaguchi-san would be making me cry.”
When Hironobu Sakaguchi thanked Yoshi P. My heart ? what an epic way of ending an incredible weekend. Thank you so much @FF_XIV_EN for an amazing FanFest ?? #ffxiv #FFXIVFanFest pic.twitter.com/bp0rAWPRA1
