Introducing Heartsteel: League of Legends Champions Band

Riot Games is making big moves in the scene. Heartsteel is the all new upcoming band joining the chart-topping artists in the industry. Heartsteel introduces champions Ezreal (vocalist), Kayn (rapper, instrumentalist), Aphelios (instrumentalist, songwriter), Yone (producer), K’Sante (co-leader, vocalist), and Sett (co-leader, rapper). They’re the newest addition to Riot Games Music (RGM), renowned for popular virtual acts like K/DA, Pentakill, True Damage, and others.

Before Heartsteel was introduced, RGM created the immensely popular pop supergroup K/DA, featuring League of Legends champions Ahri, Kai’Sa, Evelynn, and Akali. Their debut single “POP/STARS” achieved Platinum status by the RIAA, and its music video marked the most successful debut for a K-pop group in YouTube history, garnering over 560 million views to date. RGM also introduced the heavy metal band Pentakill, boasting 460 million monthly listeners on Spotify and over 200 million streams across various platforms. Additionally, RGM entered the hip-hop scene with the virtual group True Damage, whose music has accumulated over 165 million streams. All three acts have performed live at the League of Legends World Championships over the years. RGM’s extensive catalog includes songs by these virtual artists, totaling over 750 tracks with more than 10 billion streams across various platforms.

“Riot’s virtual artists have been some of the most innovative and beloved music moments for our players. The idea of an all-male band has long been speculated on by fans and we’re so excited to bring this fantasy to life. HEARTSTEEL is a deep collaboration between all our talented in-house creative teams and some incredible new artists. The ethos of HEARTSTEEL is a supergroup of musical soulmates greater than the sum of its parts -a philosophy that our community embodies every day through their dedication to our games.” – Maria Egan, Global Head of Music & Events at Riot Games Entertainment.

Heartsteel is set to bring thrilling collaborations with music icons from diverse genres:

  • BAEKHYUN as Ezreal: A powerhouse vocalist known for his role in EXO and SuperM, hailed as a top talent in K-pop. He’s notched up nine million-seller records, showcasing his global popularity.
  • ØZI as Sett: Rising from the Mandarin music scene, this LA-born, Taipei-raised artist excels as a singer-songwriter, producer, performer, and creative director. His debut album earned him six Golden Melody Award nominations and “Best New Artist” recognition.
  • Tobi Lou as K’Sante: A versatile artist blending hip-hop, R&B, and pop with infectious melodies. Born in Nigeria and raised in Chicago, Lou gained traction with his hit single “Buff Baby.”
  • Cal Scruby as Kayn: A witty rapper based in Los Angeles, known for his clever lyrics and unique visuals. He’s collaborated with major brands like the NFL, EA Sports, and Ciroc Vodka.

Get ready for an electrifying musical journey!

Heartsteel’s dynamic songwriting and high energy shine through in their debut single, “PARANOIA.” Fans can catch the music video on YouTube or stream the track on all major platforms starting Monday, October 23 at 8:00 AM.
