Netflix October 2023: Our Picks & Highlights

I’m sure you won’t want to waste time sifting through Netflix’s extensive catalogue of shows and movies just to decide on what to watch. The streaming giant updates its site every day, week, and month with new content, so I’m here to save your precious time.

Here are my personal recommendations and highlights for Netflix Malaysia’s October 2023 lineup and how to fill up your free time with worthwhile content at home:

Beckham (4 October 2023)

‘BECKHAM’ is a four-part Documentary Series Directed by Fisher Stevens and Produced by John Battsek, it features a mixture of never-before-seen personal archive footage from the last forty years, candid current-day moments, and interviews with family, friends, and footballing figures who have been part of his journey.

Lupin Part 3 (5 October 2023)

Now in hiding, Assane must learn to live far from his wife and son. With the suffering they endure because of him, Assane can’t stand it any longer and decides to return to Paris to make them a crazy proposal: leave France and start a new life elsewhere. But the ghosts of the past are never far away, and an unexpected return will turn his plans upside down.

The Fall Of The House Of Usher (12 October 2023)

In this wicked series from Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House) and based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe, ruthless siblings Roderick and Madeline Usher have built Fortunato Pharmaceuticals into an empire of wealth, privilege and power. But past secrets come to light when the heirs to the Usher dynasty start dying at the hands of a mysterious woman from their youth.

Bodies (19 October 2023)

Bodies. Kyle Soller as DI Hillinghead in Bodies. Cr. Matt Towers/Netflix © 2023.

Four detectives, living in four different eras, find the body of the same murder victim in London’s Whitechapel. They soon come to realise their investigations have them central to a mysterious conspiracy spanning over a 150 years.

Pluto (26 October 2023)

When the world’s seven most advanced robots and their human allies are murdered one by one, Inspector Gesicht soon discovers that he’s also in danger.

Pain Hustlers (27 October 2023)

Pain Hustlers – (L to R) Amit Shah as Paley, Emily Blunt as Liza and Chris Evans as Brenner in Pain Hustlers. Cr. Brian Douglas/Netflix © 2023.

Emily Blunt, Chris Evans, Catherine O’Hara, and Andy Garcia in PAIN HUSTLERS. Only on Netflix October 27.

Dreaming of a better life for her and her young daughter, Liza (Emily Blunt) lands a job from Pete (Chris Evans) at a failing pharma start-up, where Liza’s charm, drive, and guts catapult her into the high life and the company into the center of a criminal conspiracy with dire consequences.
