Marvel’s Echo Trailer Teases The MCU’s First Mature-Rated Series & Daredevil Appearance
Marvel Studios has revealed the first trailer for the upcoming Echo series, which will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar and Hulu on 10 January 2024.
The trailer confirms several things; that the series will explore Alaqua Cox’s Maya Lopez AKA Echo’s Native American heritage, Matt Murdock AKA Daredevil will appear in the series (he’s in the trailer for a split second at 1:27) and Wilson Fisk AKA Kingpin is still alive.
All episodes of Echo Season 1 will premiere at once, which marks a first for any Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) series. Previous series have all premiered new episodes on a weekly basis. There will reportedly be 5 to 6 episodes of Echo.
The series centres around Maya Lopez, a deaf Native American superhero who has the talent to imitate any opponent’s fighting style. Alaqua Cox is playing Maya and was introduced during Hawkeye Season 1. Maya, in the comics, has also run in the circles of Daredevil, Moon Knight and the Avengers. It also stars Zahn McClarnon, Vincent D’Onofrio, Charlie Cox, Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Cody Lightning and Graham Greene.
