ONE Esports’ MPL Invitational Returns Next Week

For the fourth consecutive year, ONE Esports, a prominent global platform for esports, and MOONTON Games will be hosting the 2023 ONE Esports MPL Invitational (MPLI). This upcoming tournament, taking place in Jakarta, Indonesia from 15–19 November, is significant as it marks the first offline MPLI event and will welcome international teams from North America, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and China for the very first time.

The MPLI 2023 event schedule begins with the Group Stage running from 15–16 November, followed by the Playoffs and Grand Final from 17–19 November, hosted at the GBK Basketball Hall in Jakarta. Fans of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) can catch all the live action online via ONE Esports’ channels such as Facebook, TikTok, Twitch, X, and YouTube, available in Bahasa Indonesia, English, and Tagalog.

Sixteen teams from eight different countries and regions will compete for a portion of the US$100,000 prize pool in ONE Esports MPLI 2023. The tournament introduces a new fan voting system, allowing supporters to determine the top eight teams in the first pool of the Group Stage. The remaining eight teams will be assigned to the second pool, forming Groups A to D and competing in specific matchups. The list of teams goes as follows:

Format

The Group Stage will operate on a round-robin best-of-1 (BO1) format. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Playoffs, with group winners entering the upper bracket and second-placed teams in the lower bracket. The tournament will eliminate the last two teams in each group.

Fan voting is ongoing, with the results announced later today, 7 November, and the final group placements revealed on 10 November across ONE Esports’ platforms.

The Playoffs will follow a double-elimination Best-of-3 (BO3) format, pitting Group A against Group D and Group B against Group C. The Grand Final will be in a Best-of-5 (BO5) format.

ONE Esports MPLI 2023 promises to display high-level MLBB talent worldwide. With the introduction of offline play and participation from international teams beyond Southeast Asia, the tournament aims to elevate the standard for MLBB esports and competitive mobile gaming.

Tickets for ONE Esports MPLI 2023 are currently available for sale, offering fans the chance to witness their favourite teams and players in action live during the Playoffs and Grand Final. For more details, visit https://kiostix.com/e/one-esports-mpl-invitational–mpli–2023.
