The New Sims 4 Expansion Pack Lets You Become A Landlord In A Vibrant Southeast Asian City
By Ali'sha Harris|November 3, 2023|0 Comment
EA and Maxis recently announced “The Sims 4 For Rent Expansion Pack”, which gives players an exciting chance to explore the exciting world of property ownership and management in a Southeast Asia-inspired city.
The Sims 4 For Rent Expansion Pack introduces a fresh and exciting world called Tomorang, which is described as a bustling city with a breathtaking tropical landscape and a lively city skyline. This new location draws heavy inspiration from Southeast Asian culture, offering players a chance to immerse themselves in its vibrant atmosphere. Sims will be able to visit the local botanical gardens and animal sanctuary, play hopscotch and marbles, and leave incense or fruit offerings at a spirit house.
Additionally, your Sim character can participate in community events, like Potluck and Pool Parties, which provide the perfect opportunities for Sims to engage with their neighbours and get a sense of community within their Residential Rental.
Along with the new world, players can also explore a wide range of delectable food recipes that reflect the rich culinary heritage of the region. These include mouthwatering dishes like khao niao mamuang (mango sticky rice), tofu pad thai, and pancit bihon.
To complete the culinary experience, players can quench their thirst with a refreshing Halo Halo, a delightful shaved ice dessert, or indulge in a flavorful Thai Iced Milk Tea. These tantalizing treats can be savoured at the Night Market, a must-visit destination that perfectly captures Southeast Asian culture.
This expansion pack offers players the opportunity to assume the role of a property owner, allowing them to experience the responsibilities and pleasures associated with managing multiple properties. Alternatively, players can choose to be a tenant instead.
Moreover, players have the ability to construct a fully customizable multi-unit residence, enabling multiple Sim families to reside on the same plot of land. This feature will be available in any livable world within The Sims 4. The dwellings available range from basement suites, duplexes, and even townhouses, showcasing exquisite wooden window shades, homes elevated on stilts near picturesque beaches, and even historic bridges. When it comes to interior design, players can select from a variety of options, such as traditional wood carvings, rattan furniture, and Southeast Asian-inspired rugs, chairs, tiles, and lamps.
It’s not all fun and games. In the role of a property owner, players will have the responsibility of addressing utility repairs, managing troublesome neighbours, fostering a sense of community, and overseeing multiple residential rentals. Nevertheless, if circumstances do not unfold as anticipated, there is a potential risk of tenants rebelling against the landlord. Based on the reveal trailer, shows a property owner confronted a tenant over loud banging and noise.
Players who purchase the expansion pack between now and 18 January 2024 will receive exclusive content known as The Sims 4’s Street Eats Digital Content. This additional content allows players to “bring the night market flavour home”, as it includes a grill cart, street umbrella, and fruit basket.
The Sims 4 For Rent Expansion Pack is set to release for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC via EA App, Epic Games Store, and Steam on 7 December 2023.
