Yeah, Karen Gillan reprises her role as Nebula, but this variant lost her sister, Gamora, when Ronan The Accuser killed her (and Thanos) and redeemed herself by becoming part of the Nova Corps. She starts the episode by finding Yondu dead and is investigating his mysterious death.
So it looks like the theme of this episode will be sort of a noir-ish whodunnit.
This means that there’s no Guardians Of The Galaxy in this universe, since Gamora died before the team could be formed. Therefore, this version of Xandar and the Nova Corps save themselves from Ronan The Accuser and the Kree Empire by encasing the planet in a shield that will last for at least 50 years and isolate it for that long as well.
Only Taika Waititi and Seth Green reprise their roles as Korg and Howard The Duck, respectively.
Jude Law played the Kree antagonist Yon-Rogg in 2019’s Captain Marvel. In this universe, he’s in jail on Xandar.
Yon-Rogg later betrays Nebula, revealing that he’s working for Ronan.
Nova Prime is also a bad guy, revealing that she’s working for Ronan as well.
Basically, it’s Nebula, Howard The Duck, Groot, Korg and Miek.
They later stop Ronan The Accuser, Nova Prime and Yon-Rogg together.
Until tomorrow’s episode, excelsior!
