Sega Unleashes New Info & Images For Its Upcoming Revivals
By Jonathan ToyadVerified|December 21, 2023|0 Comment
Sega made a splash this early December with a slew of announcements involving the revival of its old franchises. The games company plans to go back to the late 90s and Dreamcast era where they went full ham with their video games and how creative they get; after all, they have the financial capacity to take more risks due to their Yakuza/Like A Dragon games selling and Sonic Frontier doing very well.
During Sega’s Management Meeting 2023 presentation, the company showcased new information for its upcoming revivals and remakes: Crazy Taxi, Golden Axe, Jet Set Radio, Shinobi, and Streets of Rage. Highlights include Streets of Rage subtitled Revolution (since there already exists a 2D sequel) and Jet Set Radio taking place in an open-world area set in Tokyo.
Check out each official description and image below:
Innovative and fresh style driving action! Cheerful feeling of freedom x fusion of nature and city. Peel out the new stage of Crazy City!
Warriors arise to subdue the demons! Defeat your enemies with a variety of attacks with swords and magic! The legendary story about the battle axe “Golden Axe” is about to begin!
“Counter-culture” x Tokyo streets open world. Experience the “rebellion” movement that feels free in a suffocating society. Make friends, increase your fans, and create a movement!
Slay the enemies in the silence of the moment. Run through the world of Shinobi full of monsters and ninja actions. Grab Oborozuki, the legendary sword, and slay evil once more. Your clan and the world are counting on you.
Beloved side-scrolling beat ’em up action series! Take control of one of the ex-officers and make the city a place where people no longer have to walk the “Streets of Rage”!
I can tell you personally that I’m looking forward to the Shinobi and Jet Set Radio remake. One’s a lovely-looking 2D action platformer, while the other is a long-overdue rollerblading graffiti tagging game in a true open world setting, all while retaining the cel-shaded art style. Just bring back Hideki Naganuma and we’re golden.
