LEGO Celebrates Year Of The Dragon With Special Activities At One Utama

LEGO is welcoming the Year of the Dragon by inviting families to build long (?) lasting memories and quality family playtime. To facilitate the creation of endless play moments, the brand has introduced two all-new festive brick sets to celebrate Chinese traditions. From 17 January to 18 February 2024, families can head down to 1 Utama Shopping Centre to participate in an exciting quest for wisdom, and enjoy exclusive promotions as they forge endearing memories.

The LEGO Group will also be presenting a spectacular LEGO-esque dragon and lion dance performance to celebrate this roar-some Year of the Dragon on 20 January 2024.

Lunar New Year is a time to unite families, foster closeness, and strengthen bonds. As such, The LEGO Group is inviting families to create lasting memories by kick-starting a new family tradition with the joy of LEGO play. Looking for a unique way to celebrate the festivities as a family and unleash your inner builders? From 17 January to 18 February 2024, The LEGO Group invites families and friends to head down to 1 Utama to take part in an exciting quest for wisdom with our longevity Dragon.

Each quest seeker will receive a quest pack upon registration to navigate their adventure onsite. Families will be tasked to complete the three adventure stations to find missing golden orbs for our longevity dragon. From collecting lucky bubbles to building a LEGO bridge to overcome obstacles, and writing Lunar Family Wishes, each completed activity will earn the participant a “Pearl of Wisdom” stamp. Upon collecting the three stamps, little quest seekers will receive an exclusive mini LEGO Pineapple build, while adult seekers will receive a special voucher that can be utilised onsite, while stocks last.

Participants can look forward to hidden gold coins onsite to stand a chance to win LEGO sets too, or post a photo on their social media for a customised print-out to capture the festive moment. On some weekends, they can witness a spectacular LEGO-esque dragon and lion dance featuring LEGO-built festive elements. Additionally, the LEGO mascot will make special appearances to distribute limited edition LEGO Lunar New Year Red Packets with a minifigure.

Festive seasons call for festive redemptions too! Shoppers can redeem a limited edition LEGO 4-in-1 Opera Singer with a minimum spend of RM268 when they purchase LEGO sets at the event. A minimum spend of RM188 at the LEGO Certified Stores will unlock the redemption of 30659 Friends Flower Garden, while a minimum spend of RM328 will enable shoppers to redeem 40611 Year of the Dragon.

Ms Chai Ai Ping, Senior Manager of Advertising & Promotions for 1 Utama Shopping Centre said,

“We are thrilled to partner with The LEGO Group once again for this much anticipated Lunar New Year campaign at 1 Utama where families and visitors will enjoy the spirit of the festivities! We look forward to welcoming everyone to join us in celebrating the auspicious Year of the Dragon with LEGO play, for a vibrant Lunar New Year experience while creating ‘long’-lasting memories together.”

Rohan Mathur, Marketing Director of LEGO Southeast Asia, said,

“At The LEGO Group, creating quality family playtime has always been a priority for us. As we usher in the Year of the Dragon, we are introducing new festive LEGO sets and an exciting quest event. This event, made possible through our valued partnership with 1 Utama for the second consecutive year, will provide plenty of photo opportunities that can strengthen family bonds through play. We look forward to having families and friends join in the fun, coming together to create long-lasting memories through play while celebrating the Chinese traditions.”
