Monkey Island Inspired Lil’ Guardsman Announced For All Platforms
By Ali'sha Harris|January 10, 2024|0 Comment
Publisher Hilltop Studios and developer Versus Evil have announced their anticipated narrative-driven deduction indie game, Lil’ Guardsman is coming to multiple platforms later this January.
In the game, players take on the role of Lil, a 12-year-old substitute castle guardsman filling in for her absent father. Your task will be to question a diverse range of peculiar characters seeking entry into the Sprawl kingdom.
Equipped with your investigative kit, you will utilize its tools such as Decoder Ring, Truth Spray, Xray Vision, Bullwhip and more to uncover the true intentions of each visitor. If you fail to do so, dire consequences await Lil’s home, as portrayed in the trailer, which appears to be a full-on war attack.
Lil’ Guardsman can be described as a cross between “Papers, Please”, “Monkey Island“, and “Grim Fandango”, featuring a fantasy-comedy narrative intertwined with interrogation puzzles. Its innovative blend of mechanics and narrative is designed to test the deductive skills of the players while delivering an enjoyable and entertaining experience.
The excitement about finally sharing the game after two years of development is echoed by Hilltop Co-Founder and Co-Game Director Artiom Komarov, who expressed his enthusiasm about the upcoming launch;
“We’ve been cracking each other up for two years coming up with scenarios, dialogue, visual gags, and picturing the voice cast that make up Lil’ Guardsman’s world, we’re so excited to finally share it with everyone on January 23rd!”
Lil’ Guardsman is slated to launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on 23 January 2024.
