Tekken 8 Fans Really Want Final Fantasy VII’s Best Girl In The Ring

Tekken 8 is out right now, and already Twitter is abuzz with who should be on the guest list roster for the game’s future downloadable content.

It all started with fans of the game stating that they want Final Fantasy VII’s best girl to be in the Bandai Namco 3D fighting game roster. The one who is alive by default in the original game: Tifa Lockhart.

Tekken 8 producer Katsuhiro Harada, a man of many words and colloquialisms, has this to say:

“We all know she is attractive and I understand that. But as yet we have not decided anything about guest characters etc.”

To be fair, the game literally came out yesterday; 26 January to be specific. While Eddy Gordo was announced as the first DLC character in the game’s Season 1 DLC character pack, the three remaining slots have yet to be announced save for seasonal release windows. It’s still too early to make promises and concrete announcements.

Having said that, guest characters are never out of the question in Bandai Namco fighting games. See Tekken 7 (Walking Dead’s Negan and FFXV’s Noctis) and the SoulCalibur series (Assassin’s Creed 2’s Ezio, Nier Automata’s 2B, The Legend of Zelda’s Link) for proof of this. It won’t be a huge stretch to put in the woman who can summon dolphins out of thin air to be in Tekken 8.

Of course, there’s always the game’s customization so that you can make your own “Tifa” in your roster:

Tekken 8 is out now; you can check out our review and Arcade Mode VS Harada guide here. On the flip side, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be out on 29 February.
