Just one week after the end of Percy Jackson And The Olympians Season 1 on Disney+, Disney has officially renewed the series for a second series.

Percy Jackson And The Olympians Season 2 will follow Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell), Annabeth Chase (Leah Sava Jeffries) and Grover Underwood (Aryan Simhadri) as they embark on a new adventure based on The Sea Of Monsters, the second book in author Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson franchise,

In a statement via Deadline, Riordan said:

“I can’t wait to bring the next season of Percy Jackson to Disney+!.Raise anchors. Hoist the mainsail. All hands on deck, demigods. We’re heading for the Sea of Monsters!”

Percy Jackson And The Olympians Season 1 has generated more than 110 million hours streamed to date.

Based on the bestselling book series by Rick Riordan, Percy Jackson And The Olympians follows Percy Jackson who is a demi-god. It’s basically a young adult series but with elements of Greek gods and other pantheons.

Riordan originally announced the Disney+ series back in 2020. There were already feature film adaptations of the books, 2010’s Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief and 2013’s Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, both of which starred Logan Lerman in the leading role.

Percy Jackson And The Olympians also stars Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri as the core trio of Percy, Annabeth, and Grover. Additional cast includes Megan Mullally, Jason Mantzoukas, Virginia Kull, Glynn Turman, Tim Sharp, Dior Goodjohn, Olivea Morton, and Charlie Bushnell. Riordan and Jon Steinberg co-write the pilot directed by James Bobin. Executive producers are Steinberg, Bobin, Riordan, Rebecca Riordan, Dan Shotz, Bert Salke, Monica Owusu-Breen, Jim Rowe, Anders Engström, Jet Wilkinson, Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Jeremy Bell, and D.J. Goldberg.

The synopsis reads:

Percy Jackson & The Olympians tells the fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson, who’s just coming to terms with his newfound supernatural powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. Now Percy must trek across America to find it and restore order to Olympus.
