Foamstars: The Best Characters To Play
By KakuchopureiVerified|February 9, 2024|0 Comment
The latest third-person shooter Foamstars is out right now, and is basically what happens when you mix Splatoon with anime characters and the power of the bubble bath.
See, your characters can create foam from their bodies and form walls and suds to hinder opponents. For those who love to be creative on the multiplayer shooter battlefield, it’s a dream come true for them. With Foamstars’ diverse cast of shooters, it’s hard to figure out who to main. Don’t worry, we’re here to help:
…you cannot go wrong with the handguns-wielding Soa. The face of Foamstar has quick run speed and quicker fire rate (since she wields handguns). Her L1 skill Bubble Step gets her out of jams and lets her jump in whatever direction suits the occasion. She can pressure opponents with her R1 skill Spiky Beat, as well throw it out while going out and in cover.
…pick Agito. He has a shotgun with high damage and slow firing rate; you do the math. Basically, if your characters have boomsticks, chances are they like their fights up-close. He has evasive moves, but they’re mostly meant to be used to surprise opponents and go for the kill with your trademark shottie. For example, his L1 skill Deep Blue Gank lets him swim through foam stealthily, making you able to do a shotgun surprise blast.
…pick Penny Gwyn. She has the best long-range guns and skills that complement her playstyle that’s favoured by tryhards in shooters everywhere. Her default assault rifle has long-range to pressure enemies from afar. Her L1 Skill Penguin Squad gives a fast burst that gives chase to enemies. Her R1 Skill Toboggan Bomb is a mine that goes forward and fast, exploding after a few seconds (think the Splatoon hockey puck bomb).
…consider using Jet Justice. His basic weapon fires large projectiles in a wide spread. His L1 Skill Cosmic Dive causes a big AoE splash, while his R1 Skill Jet Vacuum Sphere pulls in opponents into a small area. Combine these to help get enemies close to you for your attacks to land.
As a last-minute defense boost, his Superstar Skill creates a shield in a nice area to protect yourself and your team. Not only that, it recharges other Skills faster for whoever is in the shield area. In a game where Skills matter, this one’s a great perk to have.
…pick the Baristador. He can only be unlocked if your Player Level is at 3. He’s worth levelling up for, as he has a wide spread and long-ranged weapon that coats the field with foam pretty efficiently when compared with the rest of the cast.
His L1 Skill Super City Roast helps spread foam around the battlefield before exploding in a column. His R1 Skill Bitter Drip creates a wall of foam; very handy for cover and defense, as well as elevation. His Superstar Skill is just an AoE attack that leaves lots of foam behind. It’s imperative for most game modes that you at least know how to use this guy, or pal up with someone who can use him well. Offense with Soa and Penny Gwyn is great and all, but sometimes defense makes the best offense.
