The New PS5 ‘Slim’ Model Officially Launches In Malaysia Next Week

PlayStation Asia has announced that the new PS5 ‘Slim’ model will be available in Malaysia from 20 February 2024 with the Suggested Retail Price (SRP) of RM2,499 for PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive and RM2,069 for PS5 Digital Edition through local retailers (https://www.playstation.com/
Additionally, the Ultra HD Blu-ray-Disc Drive for the new PS5 Digital will be sold separately at RM529 and a new Vertical Stand compatible with all PS5 models will be sold separately at RM149. A variety of PS5 Console Cover colours for the new model will be available from 20 February 2024 as well, including the Deep Earth Collection colours in Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Sterling Silver. Prices for the PS5 Console Covers will start at RM259.
The new PS5 models are slimmer and smaller, as they have been reduced in volume by more than 30%, and weight by 18% and 24% compared to the previous models. There are four separate cover panels, with the top portion in a glossy look, while the bottom remains matte. It will also come with bigger storage space at 1TB. The original PS5 models only had 825GB of storage.
