Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion to Launch in Fall 2024
By Ali'sha Harris|March 28, 2024|0 Comment
Publishers Xseed Games, Marvelous Europe, Marvelous, and developer Team GrisGris have announced that Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion will be launched in the fall of 2024, as revealed in the announcement trailer.
On the official website, the horror adventure game has a specific release date, which is 28 August 2024. However, no other details are available on the website apart from the announcement trailer and background information on the main characters who will feature in the game: Haruka Nanami, Nemu Takanashi, and Maria Hitsugi.
A group of high school girls visited Amare Est Vivere Hospital to test a local urban legend to boost the streamer Nemu’s subscriber count. It turns out that the “Ayame’s Mercy” legend is real, and the three girls are sent into a dark realm by an ancient curse. Together they must avoid the vengeful spirit of Ayame Kirishima and other horrors from the hospital’s dark past as they search for a way to dispel Ayame’s curse once and for all.
According to the trailer, the game will feature “new characters, a new setting, a terrifying new curse, and a brand-new look”. A few gameplay glimpses are shown as well, and it appears that the game will ditch its pixel art style for a full 3D makeover.
The trailer for Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion, as surprising as it may be, did not reveal the specific release date. However, it has been confirmed that the game will be released on 28 August or sometime during the fall of the year 2024 for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Further updates may be provided in the future.
