Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Director Hints at Expansion for Queen’s Blood Card Game

Fans of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth have been thoroughly engaged in the immersive world of Gaia, with its rich storyline and diverse gameplay elements. Among these features is the intriguing in-game card game, Queen’s Blood, which has captured the attention of players worldwide. Now, the director of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Naoki Hamaguchi, has hinted at the possibility of expanding this beloved card game even further.

Check out the FF7 Rebirth review

In a recent interview with Red Bull, Naoki Hamaguchi discussed the potential future of Queen’s Blood. Despite no definitive plans being set in stone, Hamaguchi acknowledged the overwhelmingly positive feedback received from both fans and media regarding the card game’s mechanics and gameplay.

“We haven’t decided anything in terms of future development for Queen’s Blood,” Hamaguchi stated during the interview. “So far, the media who played it have provided very positive feedback on it, so we want to consider further expansions as a possibility.”

Within Rebirth, Queen’s Blood offers players a strategic and engaging card game experience. Players strategically place cards across three distinct lanes on a physical board, each card bearing a numerical value. The objective is to accumulate the highest score across two out of the three lanes. With various cards featuring unique abilities that can influence scores and alter the game board, Queen’s Blood provides an intricate and captivating gameplay experience.

The potential expansion of Queen’s Blood hints at Square Enix’s commitment to enriching the Rebirth universe. With the card game already proving to be a hit among players, further expansions could offer new challenges, cards, and strategies, enhancing the overall gaming experience.

Early this month, we reviewed Rebirth and stated:

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is an ambitious and well-made take on a huge chunk of a 1997 JRPG wonderchild and does justify the purchase of the PlayStation 5 for what it offers.

As fans eagerly await news of potential expansions for Queen’s Blood, it’s clear that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth continues to captivate audiences with its diverse gameplay offerings. Stay tuned for further updates on the development of Queen’s Blood and other exciting features within the world of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
