Ghibli & Zelda-Inspired Adventure Game Europa Delayed to Summer 2024
By Alisha Alix|March 28, 2024|0 Comment
Publisher Future Friends Games and developer Novadust Entertainment have announced that the anticipated indie game that blends The Legend of Zelda and Studio Ghibli, Europa has been delayed. The decision was made to give more time for the team to polish the game, especially for its narrative and pacing.
In a recent Europa video update, creator and lead developer Helder Pinto shared the unfortunate news that the game’s release has been postponed. Initially scheduled for 16 April, the game is now expected to be available sometime during the Summer of 2024. The exact launch date has not been determined yet, but the video offers a glimpse into the progress and plans of the development team.
“This was a very hard decision and came after a lot of discussion between myself and the rest of the team. Europa began as a side project I created alone, and in the years since it has grown more than I ever could have dreamed, though we are still working in the evenings and weekends around our day jobs. I’m very proud of what we’ve done together – which is why I can’t stand the thought of releasing the game before it’s in the condition we want it to be. Unfortunately, it looks like that’ll take a little bit longer than we expected.”
On the moon Europa, nestled within the shadows of Jupiter, an android named Zee embarks on a quest for answers. As you guide Zee through this journey, you will encounter breathtaking landscapes that stretch as far as the eye can see. With the Zephyr jetpack, you can enhance your capabilities and soar higher and further, until you can effortlessly navigate the vast sky.
Europa is set to release sometime in the Summer of 2024. While waiting, you can wishlist and try out the demo on Steam.
