By Alleef Ashaari|March 14, 2024|0 Comment
The fifth episode of Invincible Season 2 is now streaming on Prime Video Malaysia. Check out my spoiler-free review of Invincible Season 2 by heading over here.
Check out my breakdown of Invincible Season 2 Episode 1, Episode 2, Episode 3 and Episode 4 here.
The synopsis reads:
Still reeling from Nolan’s betrayal in Season 1, Mark struggles to rebuild his life as he faces a host of new threats, all while battling his greatest fear – that he might become his father without even knowing it.
Starring Steven Yeun, with Sandra Oh, Zazie Beetz, Grey DeLisle, Chris Diamantopoulos, Walton Goggins, Gillian Jacobs, Jason Mantzoukas, Ross Marquand, Khary Payton, Zachary Quinto, Andrew Rannells, Kevin Michael Richardson, Seth Rogen, and J.K. Simmons. Joining the Season 2 cast are Sterling K. Brown, Peter Cullen, Rob Delaney, Calista Flockhart, Phil LaMarr, Luke MacFarlane, Tatiana Maslany, Scott McNairy, Jay Pharoah, Ella Purnell, Tim Robinson, Ben Schwartz, Rhea Seehorn, Lea Thompson, Paul F. Tompkins, Shantel VanSanten, and more.
Created by Robert Kirkman (and artists Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley), Invincible revolves around 17-year-old Mark Grayson who learns that he has inherited incredible powers from his superhero alien father, Omni-Man. The comic series ran for 144 issues from 2003 to 2018, with many spinoffs and its own cohesive shared universe.
I’ll be discussing heavy spoilers so if you haven’t seen it or want to avoid spoilers, now’s your chance to stop reading.
Mark brings his brother, Oliver Grayson, back to Earth with him. This will have a lot of effect on the story moving forward.
Cecil admits that Donald died in the explosion and that Donald was revived as a Robocop-like android. In the comics, he would later help the heroes by fighting villains using his cyborg abilities.
Just like in the comics, Dupli-Kate and Shrinking Rae die, getting killed by the Lizard League while Invincible and most of the Guardians Of The Globe are off-Earth and on the way to Mars.
Just like in the comics, Allen The Alien survives his encounter with the Viltrumites and he actually becomes stronger in the process, similar to how the Saiyans in Dragon Ball become stronger after near-death experiences.
Thaedus, the founder and leader of the Coalition of Planets, is secretly a Viltrumite and he was the first to rebel against the Viltrum Empire.
Until next week, excelsior!
