It Takes Two Sold Over 16 Million Copies Since Launch

It Takes Two, developed by Hazelight Studios and published by Electronic Arts, is a critically acclaimed cooperative platform game. It was released in 2021 and has since achieved remarkable success, selling over 16 million copies worldwide, meaning it sold an additional six million units in just over a year.

The announcement was made on Hazelight Studios’ Twitter/X platform, stating that not only has the game sold 16 million units, but over 30 million players have played the game.

To commemorate the occasion, the studio shared a special art dedicated to fans, expressing its gratitude for their support. Hazelight founder Josef Fares also expressed amazement at the news, exclaiming “Insane!”

It Takes Two is a multiplayer game designed with couch co-op in mind. It stands out from other games due to its emphasis on relationships and parenting. This aspect may have contributed to its steady growth over the years.

The game has won multiple prestigious awards, including Game of the Year and Best Family Game at the Game Awards in 2021. Additionally, it received accolades for Best Design at both the DICE Awards and GDCA Awards in 2022.

It Takes Two is out now for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
