Activision recently revealed that it had successfully banned over 27,000 Call of Duty accounts over the weekend. According to the company, this significant ban wave was a result of its enhanced detection systems and recent security updates.
Activision emphasized its commitment to eliminating bad players/cheaters from the game and stated that players should anticipate additional ban waves in the future. The recent ban wave followed the launch of Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 3 and coincided with a free multiplayer trial from 4 April to 8 April 2024.
Activision says over 27,000 accounts were banned in Call of Duty, across Warzone and MW3, over the weekend.

“#TeamRICOCHET identified and banned over 27,000 accounts over the weekend through a series of upgraded detection systems. The team is progressing on a new set of security updates and anticipates more ban waves to come.”
Although the exact timing of the anticipated additional “ban waves” is yet to be known, it can be speculated that more will be arriving this week and the next.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and WarZone recently entered Season 3, bringing an array of new content for players to enjoy. This latest instalment from Activision introduced several new maps, game modes, weapons, and more.
One of the highlights of the Season 3 update was the return of Rebirth Island to Warzone which also introduced the Resurgence mode. This mode introduces a twist by allowing players to respawn as long as they have at least one surviving teammate.
