Darkest Dungeon II Makes Way to PlayStation Consoles this July

Red Hook Studios, the publisher and developer, has announced that its upcoming turn-based roguelike RPG, Darkest Dungeon II, will be arriving on PlayStation consoles within the next 3 months.
Darkest Dungeon II takes players on a cosmic horror-inspired journey, where they will lead a party of adventurers through a ruined world aboard a stagecoach. Between runs, players will have the opportunity to engage in turn-based battles and purchase upgrades to enhance their party’s abilities.
One notable aspect of the PS4 and PS5 versions of Darkest Dungeon II is the inclusion of vibration features. These will simulate the heartbeat of wounded characters and the feeling of their wagon going over bumps in the road, enhancing the gameplay experience and adding a sense of immersion.
In addition to the base game, players can look forward to two exciting new classes being introduced in downloadable content called The Binding Blade. The Crusader and the Duelist will bring their unique abilities and signature items to the title, alongside fully-voiced backstories that include playable flashback encounters.
In a press release, Red Hook’s Tyler Sigman said:
“The game feels great with DualSense Controller—we’ve been able to add touches like feeling the heartbeat of a hero on death’s door, or the rumble of the stagecoach’s wheels as it hits a trap. Darkest Dungeon I was fortunate to find a strong community on PlayStation and we hope the same proves true with the sequel.”
Darkest Dungeon II is scheduled to be released on Playstation 4 and 5 on 15 July 2024. The game is currently available on PC via Steam.
