Windblown’s Debut Gameplay Trailer Takes Flight

Motion Twin, the studio behind the critically acclaimed Dead Cells, has unveiled the first glimpse of its upcoming game, Windblown. Scheduled for release in Early Access on Steam later this year, Windblown promises to deliver an adrenaline-fueled roguelike action experience unlike any other.
In Windblown, players will embark on fast-paced journeys across dynamic, floating islands suspended in the sky. Their mission? To vanquish the menacing Sentinels, minions of the ominous Vortex threatening their homeland. With swift and precise movement mechanics, players will navigate through perilous landscapes, dodging relentless Sentinel attacks while gearing up for the next showdown. From the vibrant Autumn biome to otherworldly terrains, players will confront numerous adversaries while collecting an array of weapons, trinkets, gifts, and even fish to augment their Leaper’s capabilities.
Throughout their adventures, players will encounter a diverse array of weaponry, each offering its own distinct advantages and playstyles. Whether discovered in hidden caches or looted from defeated foes, these weapons will shape the players’ strategies and tactics. Windblown introduces a unique combat mechanic called Alterattacks, allowing players to unleash devastating moves by seamlessly switching between two weapons mid-combat. This dynamic system encourages players to experiment with different weapon combinations, keeping the gameplay fresh and engaging.
Moreover, Windblown offers a variety of trinkets and gifts to further enhance the Leapers’ abilities. Trinkets provide powerful environmental effects, such as explosive blasts or debilitating status ailments, while gifts offer passive bonuses to augment combat prowess. Additionally, players can discover special fish with unique abilities, adding another layer of strategy to their arsenal. These fish abilities, when synchronized with cooperative online play, create opportunities for coordinated attacks and synergistic gameplay.
Windblown’s development prioritizes community engagement, with player feedback driving iterative improvements to the game. Following a successful Closed Alpha phase, which saw significant enhancements to Alterattacks and enemy encounters, Windblown is gearing up for its next closed playtest. Players eager to participate can sign up for updates on the game’s official website.
As the anticipation builds, gamers can catch a glimpse of Windblown’s thrilling gameplay in the newly released trailer. With its innovative mechanics and collaborative approach to development, Windblown promises to be an exhilarating addition to the roguelike genre when it launches on Steam Early Access later this year.
