Apex Legends Season 21:Upheaval FINALLY Welcomes Solos Back

Season 21 is bringing about a welcoming amount of new changes besides a new legend, Alter. Alter is the 3rd void legends to be brought into the Apex Games. Not only is Alter a terrifying opponent to go against in the games, she is a Mahjong champion, and a soccer player. We still don’t know how Alter joins the Apex Games, or how she is connected to the other legends, but what we do know is there is finally more lore for Horizon. Alter briefly shows a photo of Horizon and her son at the end of the trailer.

ALTER’S ABILITIES

  • Class: Skirmisher
  • Passive – Gift from the Rift: Alter can interact with a deathbox from a distance and claim one item. Alter cannot grab a Shield Core for an armor swap using this ability.
  • Tactical – Void Passage: Alter’s tactical creates a portal passageway through a surface.
  • Ultimate – Void Nexus: Alter creates a regroup point all allies can remotely interact with to open a phase tunnel back to that location.

WELCOME BACK SOLOS

The last time we had a Solo Event was in Season 2, The Iron Crown Event, but we welcome it back this Season 21 for the first 6 weeks replacing Duos. The mode will also have new tweaks:

  • Reintroduction of respawn tokens: Each player will have 1 token which will allow them to drop back into the fight before Round 4, if you haven’t used it yet, then it gets converted into Evo.
  • Battle Sense: A HUD indicator that will give you a visual and distinct audio cue when there is an enemy within 15m
  • Auto-heal: Out of combat and on Kill!
  • Player Count will be 50.
  • Adjusted Circle Sizes.
  • Pre-kitted weapons.

GET READY TO RUMBLE WITH A TWIST

The Rumbles is a new in game competitive system that celebrates players of all skill level. It’s time for you to climb the leaderboard. Chris ‘C4’ Cleroux, Lead Progression Designer said there will be more twists with this return that he couldn’t share just yet.

RANKED CHANGES

  • If you ‘graduated’ out of Rookie, you will start out at Bronze 4.
  • If you haven’t ‘graduated’ out of Rookie, you start at Rookie 4.
  • Rank Rewards will be normal or animated badges. To achieve the animated badge, you need to get to the same rank you got in Split 1.
  • Final Rank Reward will be your highest rank you achieved, EXCEPT PRED.

META CHANGES

  • Devotion is replacing the Wingman in the care pack! Remember OG carepack Devotion? 😉
  • The Longbow is getting some love! No more barrels on Longbow.
  • Digital Threat removed from loot pool.
  • You no longer have to wait for the Banner Grab Animation!

ARTIFACTS FOR EVERYONE!

Artifacts are new melee universal cosmetics. Each Artifact comes with a base, theme, and power source. After players activate a power source, they can unlock a specific emote which they can flourish at any point in the match. You will be able to toggle it on and off at any point. There are over 200 possible cosmetic combinations.

EXOTIC SHARDS will be earned in the premium battle pass or in the shop!
