Greek Mythology Fans Are Eating Good This Week As Funny Coincidence From 2020 Returns In 2024
By Alleef Ashaari|May 10, 2024|0 Comment
Back in 2020, fans of Greek mythology were treated to two things that were great for them; namely the full release of Supergiant Games’ roguelike action RPG Hades and the first season of Powerhouse Animation Studios’ animated series Blood Of Zeus on Netflix (the same studio behind the Masters Of The Universe and Castlevania animated shows on Netflix).
Four years later and it’s now 2024, and we have a funny coincidence on our hands as it’s all repeating yet again, and now it’s in the same WEEK, no less.
Firstly, Supergiant Games launched Hades II AKA Hades 2 in Steam Early Access on PC earlier this week on 6 May 2024 (check out our glowing full review here).
It’s only RM72 on Steam and at the time of writing, it already has more content than the base game of the 2020’s Hades’ full release. The game drips with Greek mythology elements, references and easter eggs, with unique takes and designs on the gods, creatures and themes we all know and love.
Plus, the game is fun as heck!
The second thing is that Netflix and Powerhouse Animation Studios are also releasing Blood Of Zeus Season 2 in the same week, as it just premiered today on 10 May 2024.
Powerhouse Animation Studios is the same studio behind Netflix’s critically acclaimed Castlevania animated series. Since the release of Blood Of Zeus Season 1, the studio has released multiple seasons of Castlevania, Masters Of The Universe and Skull Island. They’re also currently working on the Tomb Raider The Legend Of Lara Croft series, which is slated to premiere sometime in 2024.
Blood Of Zeus Season 1 was a great watch for fans of Greek mythology, featuring amazing animation with adult gore and a twist on familiar elements of Greek mythology. Season 2 will probably be more of the same.
Our point is that it’s a Hel-la good time to be a fan of Greek mythology, especially this week. That’s probably your entire weekend sorted out if you’re a massive Greek mythology buff.
We here at Kakuchopurei are here to remind you of all this content so that you don’t miss out on all the good stuff.
Have a great time, Greek mythology fans, excelsior!
