Homelander gets Official First Look Trailer in Mortal Kombat 1
By Alisha Alix|May 6, 2024|0 Comment
The world of Mortal Kombat has always been known for its diverse roster of characters and intense battles. The latest instalment, Mortal Kombat 1, is set to take things to a whole new level by introducing its next highly anticipated DLC character – Homelander.
NetherRealm Studios today unveiled Homelander from The Boys and Ferra, introducing them to fans in a trailer for the Kombat Pack DLC. The trailer showcases the characters’ Versus screen animations, with Homelander showcasing his heroic persona and Ferra perched atop a bag filled with severed heads. Mavado is also shown although just a glimpse, his official launch is scheduled for later this week.
The trailer does not include any gameplay footage but showcases Homelander’s pre-fight intro and his Fatalities. Ferra, on the other hand, didn’t get much in showing her fighting prowess. Fans of The Boys will probably recognize those infamous finishers: eye laser head melt and getting punched into a plane (we’re here for that).
Despite the absence of confirmation, speculation persists as to whether Antony Starr will reprise his role as Homelander in Mortal Kombat. Starr had previously expressed that he was not involved in the project, but fans have held out hope.
In the Kombat Pack DLC, Homelander is one of multiple characters featured. Others include Ermac, Omni-Man, Peacemaker, Quan Chi, and Takeda.
The character’s release schedule has not been disclosed, but based on the trailer description, which indicates that The Boys Season 4 will premiere on 13 June, we can expect to hear more about it towards the show’s release date.
