LEGO Star Wars Celebrates 25 Years Of Galactic Fun At Sunway Pyramid

May the 4th be with you! This Star Wars Day 2024, The LEGO Group is celebrating its 25th anniversary of LEGO Star Wars by holding an exciting pop-up event from 1 to 12 May 2024 at Sunway Pyramid. The LEGO Star Wars pop-up will combine LEGO play and memorable Star Wars moments for fans to build their own galaxies of epic stories.

Fans can look forward to the launch of new 25th anniversary products, including the magnificent 75382 LEGO Star Wars TIE Interceptor building set, while enjoying special promotions and gift-with-purchases (GWPs) onsite.

Rohan Mathur, Marketing Director, Southeast Asia, The LEGO Group said,

“Many of us are big fans of Star Wars, and these stories continue to resonate with us today. This May the 4th, we look forward to celebrating 25 years of LEGO Star Wars adventures! We’ve built an incredible 25 years together, brick by brick, with Star Wars fans around the world. To celebrate this milestone, we’re throwing Malaysia’s most epic LEGO Star Wars event of the year! Get ready to build new galaxies, unlock exclusive 25th-anniversary LEGO sets, and create unforgettable memories as one’s imagination takes flight alongside fellow fans in a celebration of play and creativity.”

Inspired by iconic scenes from the Star Wars universe, fans will be in for a treat at the LEGO Star Wars pop-up, where statues of fan-favourite characters such as the Storm Trooper, Kylo Ren, Yoda, and C-3PO, Chewbacca and R2-D2 await. There will also be LEGO dioramas built by Titan Creations, and fans can guess the number of LEGO lightsabers for a chance to win attractive prizes.

Amy Hoo, Associate Marketing Director of Sunway Pyramid said,

“We are honoured to partner with The LEGO Group once again for the monumental 25th Anniversary of LEGO Star Wars celebration happening at Sunway Pyramid, where we are certain the LEGO fans and Star Wars fans will join forces to make this a memorable occasion. We are ecstatic to welcome everyone to experience the Force as we celebrate these two globally renowned brands together.”

Gamers can dive into the latest version of the LEGO Fortnite x Star Wars game, to be released on 3 May 2024, and experience the thrills firsthand onsite.

Ready to be the next LEGO Star Wars hero? Fans can unleash their inner hero by snapping a self-portrait at the Create Your Own Poster booth. Watch as you are “transformed” into a LEGO Star Wars minifigure, and your minifigure self takes its place in an exciting poster amidst other Star Wars-themed characters. The poster can be downloaded as a keepsake.

Weekend warriors are in for an out-of-this-galaxy time where they can come face-to-face with LEGO Darth Vader! The roving character will be appearing at the pop-up at selected time slots.

In celebration of fan creativity, the LEGO Star Wars pop-up will be in full swing on 5 May 2024 with a series of activities set to bring Malaysia’s LEGO Star Wars community together.

  • Witness the local costumed fan group, 501st Legion do an Imperial March-in
  • Test one’s knowledge of a galaxy far, far away in a trivia contest to stand a chance to win a signed LEGO Star Wars set
  • Come dressed in your best Star Wars-inspired looks and take advantage of endless photo opportunities throughout the event
  • From 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm on 5 May 2024, fans who bring their own lightsabers are welcome to join a gathering at the LG2 Orange Concourse, where LEGO Darth Vader will make a special character appearance, joining the Star Wars Day festivities with a memorable group photo.

From 1 to 26 May 2024, the top five spenders at the LEGO Star Wars pop-up will walk away with tickets to LEGOLAND Malaysia, along with a 75341 Luke Skywalker’s Landspeeder LEGO Star Wars set. The top spender will get to enjoy an exclusive 2 Days 1 Night stay at the LEGOLAND Hotel.

In conjunction with May the 4th and the 25th anniversary of LEGO Star Wars, The LEGO Group will be re-releasing its ultimate collectors’ set, the 75382 TIE Interceptor, after 24 years. Priced at RM999.90, fans of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi can relive the action of the movie, as they recreate the distinctive wings, detailed cockpit, and laser cannons of the magnificent LEGO Star Wars TIE Interceptor building set.

Star Wars fans of all ages can look forward to an exciting line-up of new releases such as the 75380 Mos Espa Podrace Diorama with a dynamic snapshot of Tatooine featuring Anakin Skywalker and the Arch Canyon, 75383 Darth Maul’s Sith Infiltrator for fans who wish to venture to the dark side, 75381 Droideka – a brick-build destroyer droid, and the 75378 BARC Speeder Escape, where fans in Team Grogu can immerse themselves in a building experience alongside Kelleran Beq.
