Renowned Malaysian Esports Commentator and personality Andrew “Sir_Cloud” Cheong, who has also appeared in Malaysia’s top gaming show Main Game on RTM TV2, is set to launch his new book titled “Esports Selamatkan Hidup Aku” (Esports Saved My Life).
The book, which is now available for pre-order exclusively in Bahasa Malaysia, will be launched at the KL International Book Fair at the World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur on 1 June, at 2:00 PM MYT. “Esports Selamatkan Hidup Aku” offers an intimate look into Sir_Cloud’s journey through the world of esports. Known for his impactful presence in the Malaysian esports scene, Sir_Cloud has been honoured with the “Caster of the Year (English)” award at the Malaysian Esports Awards 2023 and was named the “Most Influential Male Caster” by Hong Kong.
In this book, Sir_Cloud chronicles his transition from a corporate career to becoming a leading esports commentator for Dota 2 and PUBG Mobile. His narrative culminates in managing the Malaysian esports contingent for the 2023 Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia. The book delves into the challenges faced by the Malaysian esports community, including issues of weak winning mentality, the struggle of players to sustain their careers, fan criticism, and the ongoing problem of cheating in tournaments.
“How long will Malaysia remain under the dominance of esports powerhouses?” Sir_Cloud asks, challenging readers to drive change within the industry.
“Esports Selamatkan Hidup Aku” is a must-read for anyone interested in the behind-the-scenes reality of esports in Malaysia. The first print run will be limited but is available for pre-order now, so enthusiasts are encouraged to secure their copies early through Rabak Lit.
Join Sir_Cloud at the KL International Book Fair to celebrate the launch and gain insights into the dynamic world of esports through the eyes of one of its most influential figures.
